    ChameleonOS v0.8
the themes bring all the boys to the yard.

First and foremost we want to thank everyone for the outpouring of support and excellent feedback we’ve had. From the beginning we believed that ChameleonOS would appeal to not only CM and AOKP users but also MIUI and the stock rom variants. We were exactly right and it certainly has gained us a large following very quickly.

We are approaching a milestone for ChameleonOS with the release of version 0.8 We finally feel that the foundation for ChaOS has been set. For anyone following us you have noticed a lot of changes in the past two months. We have included some features that have never been seen before.

For those who have been along for the ride since the beginning and future users of ChameleonOS I want to let you know that we aren't going anywhere. We will continue to think of creative new features for you to enjoy.

So enough with the babble, what has changed?

    Chaos Firewall
    • You may now control which applications can use data / wifi. The days are gone that Facebook eats half your mobile data limit without your knowledge.
    • Instead of re-inventing the rule we started from a well known open source Firewall base, which includes features from IPv6 support all the way to notifications.

    Chaos Launcher
    • We've added support for only one home screen, so for people that want just one screen, you can have it.
    • The speed when displaying those homescreen previews has been sped up greatly, reducing lag when navigating between display and launcher.
    • Fixed the problem where icon sizes would adjust when moving them from your homescreen to the dock or vice versa.
    • Added more options to the Appbar released in v0.7. Choose to have the Appbar on either the left or right side of the screen, user definable trigger region, adjustable transparency and an option to hide the icon labels.

    Navigation Drawer
    • You may of noticed many Google Applications updating with this new "sidebar" that holds the menu for that application. We are happy to bring this feature into Chaos.
    • Notably the Settings are the first AOSP application to utilize this new feature.

    Dialer (Phone)
    • We have launched another revision of the Phone, which includes a big step towards a themeable solution, making it easier for theme developers to swap out images and designs without hiccups.

    MMS (Messaging)
    • The Messaging application now has a layout similar to the one in Google Hangouts (Talk). This easy to use layout makes having multiple conversations very easy and expands on the once old static list of conversations.
    • Also has the support of being themeable which can help differentiate your phone from the basic AOSP look.
    Gesture Lockscreen
    • Everyone has heard of the basic Slide, Face, Pattern, Pin and Password unlock, but today we are announcing: Gesture.
    • A password with literally unlimited possibilities, and yes don't worry all the basic brute forcing and password forget features are built into this option as well.

Tablet UI (Experimental - In Progress)
    • A feature that was once reserved for tablets themselves has made itself to ChaOS. If you own a phone with a slightly bigger screen than normal, give the Tablet UI feature a try and experience a UI that simply redefines the core usage and look of Android

    Bug Fixes & Extras
    • If you hold the multi-task button, you now have in the top right corner a circular memory meter which constantly updates the available and total memory. The meter is color coded with red being less than 20% free memory, yellow being between 20% and 50% and blue being 50% or more. Note: These colors can change based on the theme applied.

    • What is a release without bug fixes? We have stepped on a lot of the ChaOS Launcher bugs, fixed a lot related to theme applying and fixed a few hiccups with our default theme.
